Terms of service

Draft for the owner to complete · 2026-10-23-draft-1

1. Service provider and contact

Hamfolio hosts amateur radio station pages and contact logs. Provider: [COMPLETE: full legal name, postal address, contact e-mail and registration details where applicable]. This is a draft. The owner must complete these details and approve the text before opening registration.

2. Account and service

The current service is free. You need a current browser with HTTPS and cookies necessary for login, and an e-mail address. Maps, passkeys and some live features require JavaScript. Registration requires accepting this revision of the terms; we record its version, language, document hashes and acceptance date. The account agreement starts after registration and e-mail confirmation. Before publishing a station, prove your right to its call through TQSL, a QRZ code or a licence scan reviewed by staff.

Never upload your password or LoTW/TQSL private key. Sign the challenge on your own computer. We do not create pages for people who have not registered. The owner controls the account; staff may investigate a callsign dispute. Protect your password, device tokens and second factor, and report account compromise.

3. Content and other operators' data

Publish only content, photos and recordings you have rights to, and your own callsign and location you intend to disclose. You grant a non-exclusive permission to store, process and display content solely to provide the service; you retain your rights. Permission ends when the content is deleted, subject to backup rotation and legal obligations.

Imports discard personal fields of other operators. Public records may show a callsign, country, up to four locator characters and technical contact data (time, band, mode, reports, confirmations and park references). Do not put other people's names, e-mails, addresses or private information in text, photos or comments. Unlawful content, other people's identity documents, spam, impersonation, bypassing limits and disrupting the service are prohibited.

4. Limits and availability

Per station: ADIF uploads up to 20 MB, 200,000 contacts, photos up to 5 MB and 200 MB of file storage. Verification evidence: scans up to 10 MB, TQSL files up to 256 KB. Imports and verification use a queue; forms limit attempts. Keep your own log backups; account export is available. Spots and ON AIR status also rely on external sources and may be delayed or inaccurate. This service does not replace a radio licence or a legally required log.

5. Reports and moderation

Send technical issues, abuse reports and complaints to the contact in section 1 with the page, issue and requested remedy, without unnecessary personal data. Staff reply by e-mail without undue delay; consumer complaints normally receive a response within 14 days unless applicable law provides otherwise. Staff may suspend publication for abuse or a callsign dispute; you may ask for reasons and a further review. Staff assess callsign hiding requests for the entire platform. You can also exercise the rights described in the privacy policy.

6. Ending the service and changes

You can export data and delete your account in the account panel. Stations never published are deleted immediately; previously published stations have a seven-day cancellation period. Backup rotation is described in the privacy policy. Material changes require a new version and advance notice to users; they do not apply retroactively. Signup acceptance covers the stated revision, not future changes. These terms do not restrict mandatory rights, including consumer rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
